I originally wrote about the Pai Rosehip 3-Step Facial Set back in November 2012, showcasing what a great value gift set it was for Christmas. As promised, maybe a little later than expected, I'm back to share my opinion and results with you.
First a reminder what's in the set.
- Pai Limited Edition Rosehip BioRegenerate Face Mask - 50ml
- Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Face Oil - 30ml
- Organic Muslin Cloth
To use the kit, Pai recommend applying a generous layer of the Rosehip BioRegenerate Face Mask, then layering a warm muslin cloth over the face and relaxing for 5-8 minutes, before removing the mask with the muslin cloth. Followed by 2-3 drops of the Rosehip BioRegenerate Face Oil on damp skin.
The Rosehip BioRegenerate Face Oil can also be used as part of your daily skincare regime.
Although I loved the recommended method, I found the muslin cloth didn't hold the heat long enough to give the full 'steam' effect. So I chose to use a flannel for that part and keep the muslin cloth purely for removing the mask and buffing the skin.
Firstly my opinion on the Limited Edition Rosehip BioRegenerate Face Mask. The mask has a gorgeous buttery texture, almost like a whipped body butter consistency, that just melts on the skin.
It's very rich. I was a little concerned it may have been too rich for me, but even my oily / problematic skin drank this in and loved it.
I think my nose must be playing tricks on me though. To me it smells like marzipan, which I love, yet there aren't any 'almond' ingredients in there?
(Full Ingredients are; aqua, glycerin*, butyrospermum parkii butter*, rosa canina seed extract*, helianthus annuus seed oil*, prunus domestica seed oil*, cetearyl alcohol, ricinus communis seed oil*, kaolin, cetearyl glucoside, rosa canina fruit extract*, tocopherol, sodium lauroyl lactylate, sodium levulinate, sodium anisate, glyceryl stearate citrate, lactic acid)
I've been using the mask once or twice a week now for the last 8 weeks. After every use, my skin has felt soft, hydrated and looks glowing. Lets just hope Pai drop the words 'Limited Edition' and make this a permanent feature in their collection.
The Rosehip BioRegenerate Face Oil contains just three ingredients. Organic Rosehip Seed Extract, Organic Rosehip Fruit Extract and Vitamin E. It contains 5 times the Carotenoids (to improve skin tone) and twice the Sterols (essential for absorbing nutrients and creating Vitamin D) of standard Rosehip seed oil.
Rosehip is renowned for it's high potency Pro-Vitamin A, making it a natural but effective retinoid, as well as Omegas 3, 6, 7 & 9 to work together to restore the appearance of damaged skin.
It's very potent, all you need is 2-3 drops. I've been using this daily for the last 8 weeks. Mainly in the evenings but some mornings too (after applying my Hydraluron). It's absorbed really easily, whether applied to damp skin (as indicated) or to dry skin.
Since using the kit and especially having the oil as part of my daily routine, I have definitely noticed an improvement in my skin. The main thing I have noticed is the improved tone and texture. The dark patches on my temples, left behind from old acne breakouts, have almost disappeared. In fact they can't be seen at all with my BB Cream on.
Between these potent natural Retinoids, working to repair the skin and the glycolic acid treatments I've been using, I think I'm on to a winning combination!
The kit retails at £30 and although brought out as a limited edition kit for Christmas is still available from paiskincare.com.

**Please note, it's not usually advisable to use Glycolic Acid and Retinol together. They have a different pH, therefore the glycolic acid can lessen the affect of the Retinol. So it's advisable to wait 30 minutes between applying glycolic acid and applying a retinol. Also both glycolic acid and retinol are known skin irritants, so sensitively could occur if using both together. Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Face Oil however is a natural, non-irritant retinol, therefore much safer to use in conjunction with glycolic acid**

ReplyDeleteI used the Rosehip & BioRegenerate fruit & seed oil blend in conjuction with the Comfrey & Calendula Calming Body Cream to ease my eczema, and it worked quite well! I sadly ran out of both products some times ago though but they are well worth it. The texture of that face mask look absolutely amazig though!
