The Elemis Skin Nourishing Body Scrub is one of two brand new body scrubs Elemis have released this year. Both of which are in the same scent as my two top Elemis fragrances. Frangipani Monoi being the other one. This one of course is the comforting and powdery scent of the Skin Nourishing range. (I've already reviewed the Elemis Skin Nourishing Milk Bath and Elemis Skin Nourishing Shower Cream).
The Elemis Skin Nourishing Body Scrub contains a blend of natural exfoliants including rice, bamboo and bora bora sand, all encased in a creamy, mildly foaming base of sweet almond, macadamia and wheat germ oils AND of course, the signature milk proteins and oat extracts which can be found throughout the entire Elemis Skin Nourishing range.
It provides quite a thorough but gentle exfoliation. It's moisturising, however it doesn't leave any residue on the skin, so this would be a perfect 'pre-self tan exfoliation', as there isn't any barrier left on the skin.
I enjoyed using this, particularly as I mentioned, I adore the 'Skin Nourishing' scent. It's a clean, comforting, almost baby powder type scent and I particularly enjoyed using the Elemis Skin Nourishing Body Scrub as part of a 'Skin Nourishing' treatment along with the Skin Nourishing Shower Cream, so I got to layer the fragrance.
Retailing at £28.50 for a 200ml tube though I'm not sure I would personally buy it again. I prefer a slightly stronger exfoliation and a scrub that leaves a layer of oil on the skin. Call me lazy, but I like not having to follow with a separate body moisturiser.
If you prefer a more gentle exfoliation and / or don't like having an oily residue left behind, then you'll love this. Especially if you're a fan of the Elemis Skin Nourishing range.
