A little while ago I reviewed the Temple Spa Truffle Noir, which I absolutely loved. I happened to mention during the post that I'd had another bout of my insomnia. The lovely people over at Temple Spa sent me a pot of Repose as a solution. Hailed as a "good nights sleep in a jar", this night / aromatherapy resting a cream is designed to nourish the skin, while the blend of essential oils helps relax the mind and aid a restful nights sleep.
Despite the obvious 'relaxtion' benefits, you're not missing out on any of the anti-ageing benefits with this night cream. It contains quite a decent amount of Hops and Vitamins E, A & B5. The "sleep in a jar" aspect comes from the blend of essential oils including Lavender, Patchouli, Geranium, Chamomile and Black Pepper.
Repose has quite a thick consistency. Something I didn't think my oily / combination skin would handle. However I've been fine and it hasn't caused any breakouts. It does advise to be 'generous' with this night cream, however I've only been applying the amount I feel my skin would absorb. A common sense approach with any moisturiser!
I absolutely love the packaging of Temple Spa moisturisers, with the chic pots and black lids, encased in a clear plastic box. They look stunning. Best of all, they provide a plastic spatula! Something so simple BUT so important when it comes to pots, to help reduce contamination.
Results wise, I really like Repose as a night cream and I like how my skin looks the following morning. Most of which is probably coming from the Vitamin A. That said, it does nothing for my sleep-less nights. Not that I really expected it to. I think I'm immune to 'aromatherapy based sleep aids'.
For that reason, I wouldn't personally buy it again. For me, the main selling point of this product is to aid a restful nights sleep. Which it didn't do for me. Plus, the anti-ageing benefits of Temple Spa Truffle Noir for example, are much better.
If you suffer from insomnia OR restless nights aren't as bad as mine then this may work for you. Even if it doesn't, it's actually quite nice as a night moisturiser. It does contains silicones though, something a lot of people would choice to avoid, particularly in a night time product.
Retailing at £37 for 50ml and is available from templespa.com.
